The First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, will on Monday November 15, 2021, launch this year’s National Health Insurance Week, with focus on increasing membership for the Scheme.

The week-long campaign will sensitise the public on child cancers, family planning and raise awareness on the benefits of the Scheme.

The campaign is on the theme: “NHIS: Using the Ghana Card for Expanded Health Services.”

The National Health Insurance Authority will air a documentary on childhood cancer and family planning during the campaign.

There will also be a poster exhibition, a renewal and registration exercise for participants using the Ghana Card.

At the district and regional levels on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, there will be the launch of the NHIS Customer Service desks at selected health facilities and also series of road shows and floats to create awareness on the benefits of the Scheme.

The Authority will from Wednesday November 17 to Friday November 19, 2021, embark on a massive registration exercise at the district level.

On Thursday, November 18, 2021, there will be a public lecture on Actuarial modelling at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The period will also be used to highlight the challenges of unauthorised fees at service delivery points.
