Ghana’s First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has opened a health facility at Kwame Anum in the Ga Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The 16-bed facility, which was constructed by the Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation, was opened on Tuesday, 1 September 2020.

The facility has an Out-Patient Department, a delivery room, labour ward, a reproductive and child health area, two consulting rooms, a pharmacy, a laboratory and administrative offices.

Mrs Akufo-Addo said on her Facebook timeline that the facility will cater to a population of about 30,000 people within the Obom Domeabra constituency of the Ga South Municipality.

About 8,500 patients are expected to be attended to in its first year.

The Kwame Anum Health Centre, is designed to “provide lifesaving and essential services such as immunisation against the 13 childhood killer diseases and provide care in maternal, child health and nutrition.”

On 1st September 2020, I commissioned a Health Centre at Kwame Anum in the Ga Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
