NDP Presidential Candidate, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings

The National Democratic Party (NDP) has said its presidential candidate, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has not pulled out of the upcoming December 7 general elections.

The NDP disclosed this at a press conference held in Accra on Monday, 23 November 2020.

Speaking at the press conference in Accra on Monday, 23 November 2020, the National Chairman of the NDP, Alhaji Mohammed Frimpong noted that rumours and media reports claiming Mrs Rawlings has dropped out of the race are false.

“This is fake news and it should be regarded as such. Our leader has not given any information to that effect,” Alhaji Frimpong said.

He said the party was confident Mrs Rawlings will gather the strength to fight on.

The NDP further noted that its campaign is ongoing.

“We will like to inform the general public that our campaign is ongoing and our parliamentary candidates are out there canvassing votes and our regional and constituency executives, as well as supporters and sympathisers, are still campaigning.”

Mrs Agyeman-Rawlings lost her husband, former President Jerry John Rawlings on Thursday, 12 November at the Korle bu Teaching Hospital.

Since then, there have been rumours that she would drop out of the race.
