The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah, has promised to win the CAF Champions League during his tenure and subsequently, lead the Porcupine Warriors to a Club World Cup participation.
Speaking to Class Sports on the possibility of Kotoko winning the CAF Champions League under the current CEO’s leadership, a former management member of Asante Kotoko, Listowel Yesu Bukarson, noted that everything is possible.
Mr Bukarson stated: “Everything and anything is possible under the sun once you put your hands to it and don’t look back.
“Now, you have to look at the short-, medium- and long-term projections in tandem with the mandate given by the board under the king.”
The former management member believes that winning the CAF Champions League will take a planned process, including “a solid team and sponsorship with credibility, good image and branding.”
“Then, systematically and gradually, you are able to put together a team in its entirety,” he added.
He also pointed out that good player remuneration helps in retaining and building a solid team.
According to Mr Burkason, until all of these are executed, he does not fancy the promises made by Nana Yaw Amponsah because “talk is cheap.”
