Anglican Bishop urges Churches to take responsibility of members

The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Tamale, Right Reverend Dennis Debukari Tong, has urged Churches to take responsibility of physical needs of their members and show concern whenever they have some disturbing issues
He said Churches must accord individuals the responsibility, having in mind that every member of the body of Christ was important, must be recognised, and valued.
“The word of God recognizes the human dignity as made in the image of God. The church, the body of Christ, must value every member of the church”, he reiterated.
The bishop made the call in a service guide to parishes and outstation churches in the diocese on Sunday in Tamale on the theme: The Church’s Mission to the Individual.”
The bishop said God had concerns for individuals, given the importance of all persons, adding, “If God has concern for each one of us, then the church as a community has a responsibility for every member because we are all children of God.”
He stated that Christians also had the responsibility to share the love and kindness they receive from God with others through the Church.
Referring to chapter five of the book of Psalm, the Bishop said, “today is our time to share, tomorrow might be too late to share God’s kindness and so take responsibility to invite others to Him”.
He called on Christians to embark on evangelism, and said Christians must be involved in evangelism, like Phillip the Biblical character, adding that “we have to go to the desert road of our city, our villages and bring in the lost children of God.
