The much-awaited Eastern Regional Inter-Districts cross country justifier is scheduled to take place from 19- 20 November 2021, in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

The participating athletes from municipalities and districts are expected to report on the November 19, ahead of the race on November 20.

The race would start 6:00 am at Agavenya through the New Juaben Municipality and ends at the Koforidua Sports Stadium.

The cross country justifier is under the auspices of the Eastern Regional Sports Authority in collaboration with the Regional Coordinating Council.

The event is geared towards selecting a formidable regional team to represent the region in the 2022 National cross country which would be hosted by Oda, in the Eastern Region.

A National cross country is an annual event organised by the National Sports Authority (NSA) that rotates from the region to region, with the just-ended event hosted in Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North Region.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mrs. Gifty Horsu Fianu, Eastern Regional Director of Sports Authority, stated that as part of the justifier all 33 participating municipalities and districts would present six athletes each made up of three males and three females.

She called on all stakeholders and other corporate organisations in the region to rally behind the Regional Sports Authority by supporting with their resources for the cross country activities, both the justifier and National event, to be hosted by Oda.
