The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) will conduct the 2021 Population and Housing Census from April to May next year.
This was disclosed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during the launch of the Ghana Census of Agriculture Report by the Ghana Statistical Service.
President Akufo-Addo indicated his government’s commitment and readiness to support the conduct of the 2020 round of Population and Housing Census despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
He further assured that the GSS had prepared in advance to conduct the census next year.
The GSS also intends to recruit and train field officers in the respective districts.
Also, in view of the numbers involved, it has become necessary for the GSS to use the classrooms of the Ghana Education Service (GES) for the training of field officers and the classrooms will only be available during the months of April to May when schools are expected to be on recess.
