Some shops at the Kingston Avenue of the Takoradi Market Circle in the Western Region, were razed by fire early Saturday, 15 August 2020.
It took fire officers five hours to bring the blaze under control.
Seven fire engines were used in fighting the blaze.
The fire destroyed grocery stores and other adjoining property.
The Takoradi market fire follows two separate fire outbreaks in Accra – one at the Greater Accra office of the Electoral Commission of Ghana and the other at a shanty town within Shiashie, also in Accra.
